Al Jaffee, As MAD As Can Be

I am a result of many influences.

My grandmother told stories of the THREE KINGDOMS of bad guys and heroes.

My schooling in St. Xavier's exposes me to bad guys and heroes.

My training in St. Joseph's Teachers' Training College gave me an inside look into the value systems of bad guys and heroes.

My stint in The Specialist Training Institute offered me ample opportunities to choose being a bad guy or a hero.

And now living in Malaysia, is heroes-bad guys galore: good is bad and bad is good!

It is interesting time when meanness, crassness and toughness wins.

The Shroud Of Turin is an impactful reminder to me to keep close to the fundamentals of decent human living.

The MAD artists keep inspiring me remember my own uniqueness and to work at developing it whatever the results.

Al Jaffee follows my MAD unique heroes.

His Fold-Ins are unique and ingenious.

His Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions, plus his inventions of strange contraptions are intellectually boggling.
