Dr. Seuss And His Amusing Works

Dr. Seuss is the pen name used by Theodor Suess Geisel. An American poet, illustrator, writer and cartoonist, he was widely appreciated for his 46 children's books.

Some of the strange but highly entertaining books he wrote and illustrated have funny titles: The Cat In The Hat; Horton Hears a Who; How The Grinch Stole Christmas; The Lorax; The 500 Hats Of Bartholomew Cubbins; One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

He was known to have spent up to a year working on a book and was reputed to throw out 95% of materials until he got what was right and suitable for his story. That was his perfectionist trait.

Another equally strange habit was to insist on being paid only after he had delivered his finished work. He accepted no advanced payment.

The American National Education Association adopted March 2, Greisel's birthday as the annual date for National Read Across America Day.

I am glad to have the opportunity to share this man's imagination in my blog.

Underlying Interpretation: Treasuring Uniqueness

Yet another ability that is truly awesome: that of using one's own voice to express one's uniqueness.

The first is the audacity: to even consider oneself good enough to hold an opinion that is one's own.

Next. To accept that one is different. Which means to be standing-up when others are seated. Which can be very uncomfortable.

Nevertheless, the fear and uncertainty overcome, daring to accept the challenge of being who one is, is a liberating act.

And here are a few examples of individuals enthralling millions with their interpretations of a
love-song: IF YOU GO AWAY.

How lovely is interpretations!

How wonderful are the ones who interpret!

The Lion King Behind The Scene Magic

More from the stage version of the Lion King.

What makes the magic on the stage when performers and props and the music jive-in?

That would be another aspect of the magic which I appreciate.  For the quality of organization and for the intellectual grasp of content, form, spirit and showmanship. And for the vision and the faith required in building a team of diverse talents and commitment.

Here is behind the scene, the driving force that sustains the quality of production.

For the art:

For the puppets:

For the lightings:

For the character transformation
